This design is for either steel, aluminum and makes for a good first time boatbuilding project. This design makes an ideal all purpose Workboat, dive boat or fishing boat. With it'd full range of hull shapes it can be turned to almost any task. Over 250 Coastworker 25 / 28 have been completed from our boat plans and are now in service in various parts of the world.

The boat plans come for a single inboard engine installation and you may choose between either displacement, semi-displacement or planing hull forms. Power options range from a 50 hp engine in the displacement version to 250 hp in the planing version. The pilot house may be extended aft if you wish to build her as a family cruiser and require more accommodation.

Already over 350 of this design have been completed and are in service world-wide. The boat plans and frame patterns are easy to follow and you can build this boat in steel or aluminum. It has a full displacement, semi-displacement or planing hull and can be built as a family cruiser or as a rugged work boat. The chine hull has provided an excellent overall hull shape and plating has been calculated to provide easy construction with minimum wastage. This design was prepared for operators in the North Sea and therefore the boat had to a rugged and safe sea boat. The full displacement hull makes for economical operation and has been designed to operate around the 7 to 8 kt cruising speed range with a 60 hp engine.

Amateurs with welding experience should have no problems building this vessel using the full size frame patterns which come with the boat plans, and the straight forward, step by step instructions.

	Coastworker 25 / 28 HI Bruce, I ordered a set of boat plans for my best friend for Christmas, here it is 1month later & we are going to start putting the bottom on her today. The planing hull design is excellent. She's a weekend project because both of us have full time jobs. We can't wait to christen her "Keel Estate". One thing I am curious about getting though is the patterns on a cad file, I have just noticed this information on the your web site and was hoping you could send me some information on the cost and the style of format e.g. dwg,dxf etc.. thanks once again Brett Muller ANSWER: We can supply AutoCAD files for any parts of the boat plans and patterns ... they are in DWG format.
