Roberts 392 B. Here we see the real thing, Roberts 392B, Radius |
| ROBERTS 392
R/C Steel or Fiberglass This design is a companion to the Roberts 39 which until now has been available only in multi-chine hull form. Due to the great demand for radius chine steel and aluminum plus fiberglass boat plans for the Roberts 39 we have designed the Roberts 392 to meet these requests. We have taken the opportunity to add several alternate versions to this new design. You can build the Roberts 392 in round bilge fiberglass, radius chine steel or radius chine aluminum. The complete boat plans and full size patterns include many sheets of large-scale drawings, plus full-size patterns for the hull, deck and cabin top beams, etc. There are several versions including center cockpit, two different pilot house versions and an aft cockpit version. The selection of sail boat plans include cutter, sloop and ketch Both short and long keel versions are now available for the R392. |

Roberts 392 B. This version is owned by Larry Rauh who writes: Last year I purchased a steel PH built in the 1990's in Bellingham, Washington. This design was a modification of the Roberts 392 and the increase in length is due to an aft swim platform. It is beautifully finished inside using lots of Oak. We like our PH and although we have not used it as much as we would like, hopefully in a few years we will be able to take her and go cruising. |

This illustration shows the male hull mold covered with either thin pre-laminated fiberglass strips or inexpensive plywood or hard-board followed by the inner fiberglass laminate, next either foam or balsa core and finally the outer layers of fiberglass. Note the area of the keel is not cored but has additional fiberglass laminate to provide maximum strength in this area.
