- and what an impressive beast it is too! You've done a grand
job here, Bruce."

Please remember - if Bruce's photo is not on the web site you are not dealing with the official design office & your bruce Roberts plan will not be recognised by the designer - also boats built from pirated or stolen plans will be forever black-listed & difficult to re-sell ! everyone considering purchasing a pre-owned Roberts design contacts us for advice so make sure the boat you build is legal ! If you doubt who is the REAL Bruce Roberts .. just count the number of kits and plans offered by Bruce as opposed to others! Check the design dates ! The plans we offer are currently updated plus every year we add at least 6 new designs to the Official Bruce Roberts plan and kits. Any boat being sold as 'Designed by Bruce Roberts' will eventually come to our attention ... BUILDING FROM STOLEN OR OUT OF DATE PLANS ... totally destroys the resale value of your boat. .... Check before you buy ... EMAIL TO CHECK OUT IF THE PLAN YOU ARE BUYING IS AN UPDATED AUTHORIZED PLAN OR A PIRATED COPY. WHEN YOU BUY A SECOND HAND BRUCE ROBERTS BOAT ... MAKE SURE THE ORIGINAL AUTHORIZED PLANS ARE INCLUDED WITH THE BOAT OTHERWISE THE BOAT MAY HAVE BEEN BUILT FROM PIRATED PLANS ! SEE LIST OF NEW & CURRENT PLANS & KITS March 2009 ... THE FOLLOWING ARRIVED RECENTLY & I BELIEVE SAYS IT ALL !!! Hi Bruce,
Received your study plans posted March 20th today and although I haven't run through all of them yet, I find that the 1600 plans are very informative, considering the number of prints. (compared to others).
There is however, one other plan I have to purchase from you - the TY 57. How I missed that one, I don't know, probably because I didn't read the fine print, "it is also available in steel" and because of that, my wife jumped all over me. Once we decide on the vessel I'll be contacting a couple of yards for a building quote, Yachtsmiths International in Nova Scotia is one of them - I'm sure they can handle aluminum or steel. BRUCE says ... I have emailed all the TY 57 prints to Ted with my compliments.
After reviewing marina costs along the east coast I've found that the mooring or docking costs jump dramatically for a +60 foot vessel, if they have the facilities for that size. So we decided to run with a vessel that's in the 50 foot range which is plenty in square footage for the two of us plus a couple of guests (I guess my macho alter ego was taking hold of me on the wr65 and the ty62's).
Now with that aside, I would like to give you my thoughts as to what I found on the internet about Bruce Roberts.
I'm quite appalled and confused about the hand you've been dealt by people like Bruce Roberts International Australia or "Fine Lines Boat Plans and Designs" et al. They're blatant and outrageous link on the home page "Answers to allegations from competitors website" is a direct slam to both you and your organization, and the blog, is certainly belligerent at best.
Now I've known and dealt with you since the mid 80's, but I can't fathom why they are doing this. I've even sourced maligning blogs on the internet as coming from their region in Australia under different ID's - what are they playing at?
Where does Australia get off, they are implying throughout the internet that they are the actual designers (from what I can tell). Well guess what, the dolphins and almarines are a duplicates of your designs. And as to Almarine, it looks like they're out of business, on the net anyway, and are now affiliated with a company called Bonito Boats - Hans Alma. What do you find on their site, low and behold it’s the Euro's with an Almarine logo on the prints implying that, once again, they are the designers.
My concerns on the vessel of choice is, who designed it, who is licensed for the design, will I get the support be it free or invoiced and, the accuracy of drawings. You are ahead in all of the above, even if you didn't design the vessel of choice. And when I see a "blueprint" with the name Bruce Roberts on it then I assume you are the one that is taking full rights to it. If Bruce Roberts International has a problem with you then they should rename their site (which I assume they are trying to do) and if anything, stop with the blatant attacks on the net - maybe that's how they're entertained.
I think I'll stick with the old guy who started it all, and with your permission that's how I'll answer those blogs, because if anything I can't stand dated blogs that bend the truth about people and companies.
Thanks again, Ted |
