EURO 1200 - Aft
Cockpit version This is now a WELL PROVEN design with many examples of the Euro 1200 already in service in all parts of the world.
This boat is designed in accordance with Lloyds for
category 1 (unrestricted operating / sailing area), which is much better
than the EU and other Classification Societies and the CE-A require.
Complete stability calculations are included in the design package. All
calculations are also cross referenced against ABS requirements to ensure
that the design meets world-wide standards and specifications.
In the case of KITS, all plate parts belonging to the hull, deck and superstructure that are accurately cut to size are included. The parts are marked with the appropriate part number and engraved matching marking lines to assist in the assembly and location of the part in its position. Cutting method is Plasma / Oxygen, ensuring highest accuracy and smooth edges.
Plate parts are cut from Lloyds approved A Grade
Shipbuilding quality STEEL that has been coated with factory applied Sigma
weld MC welding primer. We use and recommend steel plate that has the
official designation ISO standard 10474 or EN 10204 with 3.1.B
certificate.

REPORT ON ANOTHER EURO 1200 Hi Bruce, I spoke to the owner of this Euro 1200 who’s very happy with the way she handles and sails, stability perfect, manoeuvring great. He cruised for about 100 hours on her in 2006 (inland and coastal waters only) but did not get her up to full engine power. She does 9.5 kn on 2800 rpm and he estimates she will do 10 to 10,5 kn on full throttle. He had some trim tabs fitted as advised by someone in Poland but had these removed as no noticeable effect. He hopes to receive around Euro 300.000,= and will then start building another boat, perhaps the Atlantic40. Regards, Edgar |

A small section of the spacious U shaped galley - We have prepared meals for 8 persons in a similar galley; space and function works well. |
|
|
Generous sized heads - shower and toilet etc - are a feature of all our Euro style motor yachts - this one shown is in one of the several Euro 1200's now in service. |

Command station in salon - there is another situated on the flying bridge. |

The salon layout is similar in both the aft cockpit and aft cabin Euro 1200 motor yachts - in aft cockpit version the salon is on the same level as the cockpit. |

Euro
1200 sea trials
We gladly accepted the
opportunity to be on board the Upon arrival, our first
look at the live Euro 1200 gave us a very pleasant impression of the real
thing. Moored sideways, her beautiful lines and the dark blue hull with white saloon and
flybridge ensure an eye-catching effect second to none. We boarded the ship all
at the same time from the same side and to our surprise she did not roll at all, the
builder commented Hows that for stability? We were welcomed by the owner / builder in the
spacious aft cockpit, easily accommodating the group of 8 persons. The engine compartment
is accessed by a hatch in the saloon floor and is well laid out and professionally done
with a refurbished DAF engine (120HP) water lubricated propeller shaft, batteries, boiler,
tanks, electric converter and there is still sufficient space for a generator or
additional fuel- and or water tanks. Two 3-step stairs on
either side of the aft cockpit give access to the side decks and a third staircase with
very nicely shaped steps leads you to the flybridge which is somewhat uncommon for
Northern Europe, but what a pleasant feature to have, providing the best possible view for
the captain as well as the passengers and the perfect place to be under good weather
conditions. You really feel to be a King (or Queen) on the water. As we left the docks for
our trial voyage we noticed the ships smooth response to the throttle and the
rudder, as well as the absence of any vibration and hardly any engine noise, in spite of
the non-insulated engine compartment and the reputation of refurbished DAF engines being
noisy. We were motoring at the
relaxed speed of some 8 knots at 1800 rpm at 25% throttle along the canal towards one of
the many lakes in Some inclement weather
during our return voyage prompted us to use the inside steering position which offers good
visibility view all around for both passengers and captain on the slightly raised steering
position. We challenged the
captain to demonstrate the full forward to full reverse capabilities. At a speed of 12
knots it takes less than half the ships length to stop which is an excellent achievement. We returned to the
marina and mooring the Euro 1200 in reverse alongside proved to be as easy as can be, with
some assistance from the bow thruster. The ship responds well to the rudder in reverse
mode, again without any noticeable vibration or noise. |

Hi, Bruce: we are sending you some pictures of our Euro 1200 project. As
you can see, we have already cut the steel and we are now preparing it with the primer before welding it. Fortunately, we have been able to find a very comfortable and roomy place to work in. We are very enthusiastic about this project and that is why we want to share our experience with you. If you are interested, we will continue sending you pictures of the whole boat building process. Best regards, Jorge Sanviti, CAVA-SA Argentina. |
| EURO 12 in Brazil. Bruce, As promised, here are photos of the Euro 1200 that I'm building in Brazil. The steel plates were cut with an Oxygen cutting process they call here Oxycut. To date, the bottom of the hull and the main bulkheads are in place as you can see from the pictures. I expect to have the frames ready at the end of this week. We have four weeks of work on the boat so far. It is being professionally built by Jose Oscar Lara Bentini, a civil engineer who also did a very famous (in Brazil) boat for Amyr Klink, that's now circumnavigating Antarctica in a boat called Paratii II.
