The accommodation of this design has been laid out to suit two couples. The Roberts 470 makes a fine long distance cruising yacht. You can customise the interior to suit your particular requirements and many variations are possible.

This is a fast cruising design which was original designed to accommodate a clients wishes who wanted a R 434 stretched to 14.5 meters.

The result was a completely new plan that could be built in wood epoxy; now several years later there are many examples of this boat sailing in various parts of the world.

	Roberts 470 Wood Epoxy This boat can be rigged as a Cutter, sloop, or Ketch as shown here. CUTTER or SLOOP rigs are also available with the boat plans and patterns for the Roberts 370 Bruce, I just love the R470 boat plans! It is exactly what I wanted. Other types of exterior woods, besides western red cedar or mahogany, for a clear exterior finish. Richard
The Roberts safety skeg is designed to take the best features from the LONG FIN / SKEG combination and add a SAFETY FACTOR. Many of you may be aware that skegs in general are vulnerable to damage so here is our answer to this problem.	Roberts 470 Wood Epoxy The boat plans for the Roberts 470 include the Roberts "SAFETY SKEG" as a option at no extra charge.
