Spray 27 Version A  (Standard Coach House)

Hi, Bruce:  In September 1999 I had the transom plate rolled and it was the first plate I  tacked on my boat (27 Spray). Well, I would like to let you know that yesterday July 22  I finally finished welding the whole hull. Considering I left for last the keel plate I had a professional welder finished it. It looks real strong. Now I can concentrate in sanding the hull and prime it so I can roll it over. Maybe two weeks. Thank you for your support...Art

s27-06[1].gif (8926 bytes)

Here we see the profile and plan view of the ( Pilot house ) version B accommodation. Other layouts are possible and many builders make changes to suit their own particular requirements.

After several builders asked for a trailerable stretched version of the Spray 22, we produced the Spray 27.....This boat is incredibly popular ... over 300 sailing world-wide. There are two basic layouts - either regular or pilot house - and either can be rigged with a gaff sail plan or as a Bermudan sloop. Both regular Trunk cabin and Pilot house versions for each material - STEEL, ALUMINUM, FIBERGLASS & WOOD EPOXY as applicable to the particular boat plan - with up the boat plans. CUTTING FILES are available for building in STEEL or ALUMINUM

Greetings, Bruce. My name is Igor. I am a Russian architect. Excuse for the bad English as this is an electronic translation. I live in Siberia near to beautiful big lake Baikal. I very much wanted to construct a boat and 4 years ago I found on the Internet the description of your Spray 27.

You have sent me drawings by e-mail. I have a little changed the project. 2 years proceeded construction. The hull - metal, with a  wooden cabin. I have named her *Mobi Dick*. In August 2006 I and my wife of 2 weeks travelled across Baikal.

On travel the boat has very much liked me. She is reliable. She is not overloaded with sails. Allows me to operate alone. Long Keel is super. She goes against a wind! Many friends have become interested in this project and now 3 more hulls are in work. SEE MORE PHOTOS OF THIS BOAT IN STUDY boat plans PACKAGE. I want to thank you for the successful project. Best regards! Igor V.Logvanov.

Hi Bruce, I am attaching one of my favorite photos of my aluminum Spray 28 "SILVERADO" In the past two years I have experienced virtually all sailing conditions one will see in the Sea of Cortez. The boat is extremely comfortable in all conditions especially when it gets rough.   Thanks again for your timely responses.  Robert Millikin Tucson,  AZ

Spray 28 Steel or Wood / Epoxy Good Morning Bruce, I have a steel Roberts Spray 28ft  junk rigged. I have owned it some 25 years, and it was built 30 years ago.   Still excellent, and wouldn't change it.  (See study plans for photos of this Spray 28)

Hi  Just wanted to let you know that Miss Fiona arrived Anstruther, Scotland from Southampton, England in early July and thank you all for your assistance along the way.  I appreciate Dylan's good advice and guidance throughout , Frank stepping in to help pave the way to completion leading to insuring a homebuilt boat for sailing in the U.K., and Peter and the NFCC for good advice, information and introductions.  I also want to thank Bruce and Hal for their support throughout.

Both legs, from Jacksonville to Ft Lauderdale and from Southampton to Anstruther were enjoyable and without mishap.  Miss Fiona was the star. The most challenging parts were learning how to plan passages, where tides are a hugh factor, and docking with a long keel in tight and rough conditions.  Once I had the tide clock set to Dover, it all came together.  We are now planning to visit the Orkneys next spring and then west coast of Scotland later.  If she continues to prove herself, and the crew can match her performance, we'll try some longer passages. Thanks Henry Rupert

With over 600 completed at last count, the Spray 33 along with her larger sister the Spray 36 is one of our all time most popular designs. Many S33's have completed complete circumnavigations - proof that this is one great sailboat that you can build in your favourite building material.

The new owners are just lovely and they absolutely love the boat. They are based in Middle East and intend to come over here to Langkawi at every school holiday opportunity - twice already since purchase. Thank you again for your assistance, Kind regards Michele

Hello Bruce, these are some more pictures of the steel Spray 38 after launch built in Slidell, Louisiana, U.S. by my father, Don Bradley, and myself.

You already have some posted on your site. She looks great rigged up!  We have had her out a few times this summer and sails smoothly. I will also send some more interior shots and forward an email from a friend containing a couple of good shots.
